A synthetic antioxidant the US National Toxicology Program lists as reasonably anticipated to be a human carcinogen.

BHA keeps fats from going rancid. The NTP's Report on Carcinogens lists it as reasonably anticipated to be a human carcinogen based on forestomach tumours in rodents; IARC places it in Group 2B. Rosemary extract and mixed tocopherols do the same job.
